Basildon Sports Centre
Basildon, England. Sunday 26th May 2002

My dream came true! I met Gil Gerard at his first ever convention in the UK (he's done them in the US for a while). It took over 2 hours to travel from Wolverhampton to Basildon by car and it was definitely worth it, Gil was great, it was a pleasure to meet him. I talked to him a couple of times and also managed to ask him two questions, which was beyond my expectations. Actually I couldn't resist asking a question or two it was essential, but in doing so I probably worried him more than Princess Ardala ever did (basically I terrorised him, sorry). And the day wouldn't have been complete without my picture taken with Gil. He definitely has a sense of humour, which was obvious as he was laughing and joking with us fans. Anyway here are the two questions that Gil very kindly answered.

"If you wasn't Buck Rogers, what other fictional/non-fictional hero would you liked to have played?"
He wasn't sure (thought for a while) then said he was satisfied with the fact that he'd played Buck.

And for a bit of trivia (yes folks I asked the silly question), "what's your favourite colour(s)?"
He said blue and British racing green.

Gil and Me

And yep, that's me with Gil. Brilliant, thanks Gil!
