Season Two (1981)

Season Two

Dr Huer (Tim O'Conner), Tigerman (H B Haggerty) and Princess Ardala (Pamela Hensley) didn't appear in the Second Season as there was a different format to the show. It was now set aboard the Starship Searcher, searching for the lost tribes of Earth.

Time of the Hawk (AKA Hawk) (Part 1 and 2) (15.1.81)
Buck, Wilma and Twiki are assigned duty aboard the Searcher, a long distance space probe to discover the lost tribes of Earth. The first adventure aboard the Searcher begins when they find a nearly-destroyed spaceship, whose last living crew member reveals that a birdlike man named Hawk attacked them. Buck tracks Hawk down to the planet Throm, where he captures Koori, Hawk's mate. Koori sends word back to Hawk, who then tries to rescue her but she gets hurt in Buck's ship and he vows to kill Buck as soon as they get medical help for Koori.

Journey to Oasis (Part 1 and 2) (22.1.81)
Buck, Hawk, Wilma and Dr Goodfellow escort a visiting ambassador to a peace conference. However, the shuttle Buck is piloting crashes with the ambassador aboard, possibly bringing about an interplanetary war if he does not reach the conference in time. But their journey across the desert is hampered by a small creature who gives them riddles to decipher in order to overcome obstacles.

The Guardians (29.1.81)
A dying old man gives Buck a strange glowing box while he and Hawk are on the planet Janovus XXVI. On returning to the Searcher with the box strange things start to happen, the crew experience hallucinations and the ship starts to head towards an unknown planet at full speed.

Mark of the Saurian (AKA The Unseen) (5.2.81)
The Saurians, 'lizard' like aliens, are aboard the Searcher in disguise of Directorate Officials. Using a device to make them appear human, they plan to infiltrate the ship to cause a galactic war. However Buck is ill with a flu like virus and is able to see the Saurians in their true form. Buck has to try and convince the crew that they are not what they seem but because of his illness the crew think he is hallucinating.

The Golden Man (19.2.81)
The Searcher rescues a golden-coloured boy from an escape capsule in a field of asteroids. Shortly after, the Searcher is struck by an asteroid, and Asimov is saved when the boy uses telepathic powers to alter the molecular structure of a metal beam that fell on the admiral. But he doesn't have enough power to repair the Searcher and tells Buck that he has a friend, who has been taken prisoner on a near by planet will be able to help if they free him.

The Crystals (5.3.81)
Buck, Wilma and Hawk leave for a planet to search for crystals needed to power the Searcher. After landing they find a strange mummy-like creature. Hawk and Wilma take the creature back to the Searcher and leave Buck behind to explore the planet. While exploring Buck meets a young girl, who has no memory of her family or how she got there. It is thought by Crichton that the girl will evolve into one of the creatures.

The Satyr (12.3.81)
While searching another planet, Buck and Twiki locate the remaining survivors of a colonization attempt. Most of the colony members had left years earlier because of an unknown plague. Two remaining survivors, a young widow and her son carry on to tend their farm while being attacked by a 'Satyr' like creature. While the widow and her son refuse to leave the planet, Buck gets infected while fighting the creature and slowly transforms into a Satyr himself.

Shgoratchx! (AKA The Derelict Equation) (19.3.81)
Buck and Hawk are ordered to explore an old derelict spaceship, where they find a hold full of deteriorating solar bombs and a crew of seven dwarfs. They take the 'crew' back to the searcher where Wilma is put in charge them, only to discover that they've never seen a woman before.

Hand of the Goral (26.3.81)
Buck, Hawk and Wilma travel to an world known as 'The Planet of Death' and encounter strange happenings. They find a wrecked space ship with its pilot, whom Wilma returns to the Searcher. Buck and Hawk are left to explore the planet and return to the Searcher to find the personalities of the crew have dramatically changed.

Testimony of a Traitor (9.4.81)
Buck is put on trial for being partly responsible for the nuclear holocaust of the 20th Century and will be put to death if found guilty. In order to prove his innocence Buck agrees to undergo a mind probe.

The Dorian Secret (16.4.81)
While on a space station transporting survivors from a planetary disaster, Buck rescues a young woman who is being attacked by a gang of Dorian males. After returning to the searcher with the woman, a Dorian vessel attacks the searcher. Buck has to convince the Dorian Commander that the woman is innocent of the crime that they believe she has committed.
