Gil has starred in a new movie. The film is entitled Reptisaurus and Gil plays General Morgensteen. He's in it throughout, which Gil enjoyed and is very good for us fans. From what Gil says the creature is comic book based and is from, shall we say, the 1960's era. It's kind of like a cross between a snake and a pterodactyl. That's all the info I have at the moment.

|
Just a reminder that some episodes of the TV series Sidekicks (1986-87), starring Gil, can be seen on youtube. Each of the episodes have been posted on youtube in three parts (except for the Pilot episode, which has been posted in five parts.)
Below is part one of the episode entitled Kicked Upstairs. Parts two and three can be seen on youtube.
Still no sign of a DVD release, which is a shame because it would make a nice boxset. tvshowsondvd.com have a section where fans can have a say on how they would like a TV show released on DVD. Registration is free and if you register you can vote for how you would like Sidekicks (or any other TV show) to be released.

There's a Buck Rogers article in SFX Collection (November 2007). An SFX magazine special. It's still on sale, as I bought it in W.H. Smiths this morning (saw it, couldn't resist) or it can be bought online.
There is a three page article, which includes an interview with Gil Gerard from 1990 and a few 'Buck facts'.
Also included with the magazine is an audio CD with 10 sci-fi themes and the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century theme is included. |
|
Buck Rogers is number 7 in AOL U.K. Top 10 Sci-fi shows. So those of you in the U.K. using AOL, take a look in AOL Entertainment. For those not using AOL here's what it says:
"Widely credited as the man who brought the concept of space exploration to the popular consciousness, Buck Rogers started life as a comic strip character in 1928. Fifty years on, this second TV take on the format saw our hero awaking 500 years in the future and finding out that earth was on the brink of alien invasion. Cue much zapping of lasers, satin jumpsuits and a snake-hipped Buck teaching the ladies of the future how to to do the hustle. Only two series of this ludicrously enjoyable show were made, but they remain a cult favourite today."
|
|
In this months issue of Starburst Magazine and as part of their 30th Anniversary, there are a few pages regarding Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Unfortunately some of what's said about the series is negative but I'm kind of used to it and I really couldn't careless what they say. It's worth taking a look for the great full page picture of Gil. So long live Buck in all his spandex, disco dancing glory!

Episodes of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century can be seen at the new entertainment website Fancast.com free of charge and without downloading anything (U.S. only). Thanks to Todd Gold Editor of Fancast.com for the information.
